Missy woke up blind one morning, but went out to feed her horses before calling an ambulance to take her to the hospital an hour away. She was diagnosed with MS at 30 years old. She regained partial sight and continued to ride her horses in barrel racing competitions for 10 more years. She began training 2 of her labs as service animals and visited hospitals, juvenile detention facilities and nursing homes. She now works at her husband’s auto repair shop a few days a week and volunteers at her church working with youth. Fatigue is always a challenge, but Missy's eye sight keeps improving with the new meds now available to MS patients.
